    Thanks for the guide!

I noticed that after using the app, the Olive doesn't response. I am not able to turn it on or off. I need to put it in the dock. After it works again.

    Do you know that issue?

I could connect two olives to iphone by bluetooth. Is it possible to stream music through them? Or is it possible to stream music on one of them per time?

    Cheers,
    Saverio

I am having the same problem

I appear to be also having a similar problem.

Once the Olive pairs with the app the actual controls on the Olive itself cease working.

When you then go back to the app its as if the Olive is no longer paired, despite the app saying there is 1 Olive connected -  also the devices on the iPhone show the Olive to be 'Not Connected'

On the home screen of the Olive app it says 'Add Your Device'.

If you try run a Demo Test this works every time :- /

All very confusing, and unsure of the actual status of the Olive relative to the app.

So as Saverio mentioned above I place the Olive back in its dock and it lets you once again take control of the device.

Also I'm not entirely sure of the quality of the Olive as a hearing aid.  It picks up sounds like clicking your fingers or tapping the table, yet listeing to someone speaking I struggle to hear (compared with my dedicated Phonak aids).

Not ready to give in yet, but have to admit to struggling at present.

@Nick Hazell & Olive Union -  Thanks Nick for your feedback.  I am one of the Olive Beta testers that have hearing loss but have no experience with hearing aids.  Comparing the Olive to currently used hearing aids is essential to improve the Olive.

I asked Olive Union several times to open a forum where we can share our experiences and exchange ideas.  A subforum for beta testers with former hearing aid experience is of great value for the development of the Olive.  Let's hope that gets started once we have overcome the initial failure of the Olives to charge and to sync properly.

@Olive Union - Please set up a tutorial for the app and syncing for using 2 Olives where the hearing loss for left and right ear are different.  Thanks

@Olive Union - where one enters the device name is covered by the keyboard.  It should be moved up to be visible when one enters the name.  Under Bluetooth Settings the Olives show up as e.g. Olive-0126 and Olive-0195.  Why doesn't the app show the names that we assigned to the Olives e.g. Left and Right? The default higher numbers indicate later syncing?

@Olive Union - One of my Olives syncs as expected.  The other Olive doesn't seem to hold a charge and fails to sync 70% of the time.  This Olive needs to be replaced.

@Daniel, I have read your forum creation requests. I think its a great idea, we are trying to determine which is the best service/where should it be hosted. I'll also work on a two Olive tutorial. Thanks for the idea!

Slight update on my earlier post.

Still struggling with the controls on the Olive itself - after removing from the cradle the controls on the Olive seem to stop working.  To work round this I have to keep docking the Olive periodically.

As a result of this I am yet to be able to answer/take a mobile phone call.  Nor am I able to increase/decrease the volume (not sure what volume it would control either).

I have managed (intermittently) to stream music from my phone though.  Its a little patchy and not as good as a dedicated pair of earphones.

As others have said this also means that you cannot turn off the Olive, re-pair it to iPhone via bluetooth or attempt to turn it back on.

Having done several demo tests I am still unhappy with the Olive as a dedicated hearing aid, I just cant seem to get it to pick up sound like my Phonak Certena Art CIC hearing aids do.  Don't get me wrong, these aids are very expensive and I would certainly expect them to out-perform the Olives.  But I had hoped the Olives would be able to act as better all-round devices letting me answer phone calls, stream music and being usable hearing aids.

Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed during the Beta testing.

@Nick Hazell - "I just cant seem to get it to pick up sound like my Phonak Certena Art CIC hearing aids do."

Do you mean speech or sounds from the environment?  Did you enter the Audiometric data or completed the hearing tests.  As a beta tester with hearing loss but without hearing aid experience/comparison I am really interested in more detailed comparisons.  Thanks

@Daniel - The sounds in the environment seem to be all that the Olive is picking up.  As mentioned in a previous post if I click my fingers, or type on my keyboard I can here the 'tapping' sounds louder than I can without any form of aid.

However when listening to speech this doesn't seem as pronounced or as clear as my dedicated Phonak hearing aid (as explained I wouldn't expect it to).

I did several demo tests and played around with the audiometry settings in an attempt to get a better all round experience and am still struggling to get to a place where I could consider using the Olive as a replacement to a dedicated hearing aid.

A work in progress is how I will describe it.

I am a beta tester with hearing loss, but never had hearing aids before. I'm having really good experience putting the settings in manually using the "Input Audiometry". Also, I cannot set my volume higher than 70% without feedback. My Settings are - from left to right (250Hz to 8K Hz)

60-70-75-70-50-70-70-70. I can hear someone mumbling across the room! My wife better watch out!

I got my Olives to pair, one at a time with streaming music from my iPhone. I have not been successful using the phone.

I'm having trouble with one of my Olives. It can't maintain a connection with my iPhone. When it loses it's connection, the volume goes to 90%. I have to put the Olive in it's dock, re-establish communication, go to the Olive app and establish connection. Then I'm able to control the volume.

By the way, the interface for volume selection is screwed up. You can set any volume until you scroll all the way to "0", then you can drag  to set the volume.

I paired my Olive with my iPhone 6 and only have one Olive listed. I can listen to music with only one Olive listed and connected. I'm using iOS 10.3.3 if this is helpful.I finally got the screeching to stop. But I still don't know how to fine tune hearing to my deafness. The hearing test does nothing to help me. Pleaase fix this so it automatically adjusts.

    Thank You,

PS I just went back to the Olive app and lost pairing and can't reconnect. This is very frustrating.

I just plugged it back into the cradle and still no pairing with iPhone.

Also the max battery I get after overnight charging is 40%.

I left it in cradle for 2 minutes and it paired again, but screeching returned for about a minute. I'm not sure if screeching is bad for my hearing.

Now after 5 minutes battery is down to 21%. It looks like battery is not working properly. Could this be a part of the problems or just a seperate problem.

Day before yesterday( 10/23/2017), I also cut the resistor to get Olive to work at all.

Every time I switch between apps on phone I lose bluetooth connection.

I hope this helps in debugging the app.

Definitely unimpressed so far, my Olive is connected OK, (got the headphone icon on my iPhone 5s, I cannot however get my phone to display the volume or the battery level which are both at 0%, changing the percentage with the volume selector has no difference. In fact everything on the Hearing Status page is useless.

Feedback issues, and a lot of amplifier distortion/white noise.

I have soldered a piece of wire to the cradle, as instructed, but have to put a weight on the top of the Olive for it to make contact with the cradle contacts.

I think that there may be issues with iPhones. I had the same issues with my iPhone 6. When I tried with an Android phone, the app function all seemed to work. I still get white noise and static .i also have problems with the docking station and nee

Reading one of these posts, I remembered that prior to returning my Olives, I had updated to the latest version of the iPhone app. After I had done that, the Home page would not communicate with my Olives. Battery level and volume did not work. They had worked previously.

I sent in a support request with these issues:

A number of issues. I have 2 Olives.
    1. Only one side will show up in the iOS app and show battery %  and volume even when I switch them in the app. I know both are fully charged and working and both are showing up in Bluetooth in settings.
    2. Only 1 Olive will sync fully when using “Input Audiometry” - the other will check stuck after you select the Olive. It says it failed to send data to the selected device.
    3. When I did hearing test: even though I did them separately, it does the same Olive when it does the test on both left and right!
I have reset both and the same issues keep coming up.

Jerry, from my experience, when my olives were operating, I was able to pair and control and monitor them. When I updated the olive software to version 1.1.7 I lost all contro!
